What Truly Motivates Me and Why

Sometimes, it is difficult to find something that motivates me. At least, this is what I would often think about before I found the proper way to change my lifestyle. About a year ago, I decided that it was time to change my life for the better. I realized that in order to do this, I needed to become healthier. I was almost always depressed, with doubts of self-worth. To put it bluntly, I was a complete and utter mess. That is the time when I realized that in order to change my attitude, I needed to change the way I lived.

To start things off, I decided to follow a rigid diet and exercise plan. I completely cut out carbonated drinks from my daily intake and I switched to plain and flavoured water. Right away, I could notice that my mood was better and I was less likely to feel depressed throughout the day. I also began taking a good quality vitamin every single day so that I wasn't missing out on any valuable nutrients. I realized that the new positive mood I was in was more than enough motivation for me to continue. Truth be told, dieting was difficult for the first one or two weeks. After that, my body began to get used to the fact that it wasn't being overloaded with junk and carbonated beverages.

After I established good eating habits, I chose to begin an exercise regimen. I would work out for about twenty minutes every day. I noticed that I could easily fit in a twenty minute exercise session every other day, which was perfect for my lifestyle. After just about two months, I lost a decent amount of weight and felt slimmer and happier. Thinking back on things now, my lifestyle change benefited me more than I could have ever imagined. What's more, I don't think I could ever go back to the way I lived a little over a year ago. It is true what they say when they mention that you are what you eat. If you eat a lot of processed foods, you're going to feel unhealthy an unhappy. Good foods promote healthy minds and bodies.
